The age gap

There's only 4.5 years between these 2, but their behaviour on the beach was quite distinct.

The older one assisted an a happy enough way, but insisted on wearing trousers and shoes to underline the fact that he wasn't up for swimming or mucking about on the beach today. He ended up digging a hole for us to create sand loungers.

The younger one did the opposite and had a great time. After an hour or so, we headed for home after some conceearted castle building.
Me? I kept an eye on the beach action and did some over due nonsense reading with Terry Pratchett's Colour of Magic. An old favourite.
