Special day today. My oldest friend has returned from Australia, bringing my godson and her "new" baby with her. Eden is 9months old. I hadn't met her til today. Katie hasnt seen Max or Auntie Lauren since just after Max's first birthday, February 2011. But she remembers him and talks often about him. And it took hardly anytime at all for them to be playing exactly how they were the last time they were together, running around up to the same games. Just with a lot more words and speed. They chased on scooters. One second they would be arguing over Wiggles books and then had giant cuddles the next. They are lovely together.

Katie was absolutely smitten by Eden from the moment she laid eyes on her, but she was really good- she gave her space and waited until Eden was laid wriggling and giggling on the floor before she went up and cuddled her, rolled with her and kissed her.

Baby Eden was in her highchair in the kitchen when her mummy called me in and said Edie had something to ask me. Would I be her Godmummy too. I of course was absolutely thrilled to bits, and Eden just sat there grinning at me. Clueless, but totally wonderful timing.

Her mummy popped out for a while leaving the normally rather clingy Edie with me. We had a lovely time. She too was smitten with Katie and did lots of walking to and from her, laughing like crazy. Katie loved "helping" to give Edie a bottle of milk.

We had to nip out to collect our (rather poorly) PC at one point but came back for a bit more of a play with Max and to mind (a sleeping) Eden while Max had his hair cut. When he came back, the two of them were very cuddly. Edie slept the whole time. Katie was somewhat disappointed, but thankfully she woke a few minutes before we were about to leave and came downstairs with big cuddles and kisses for Katie.
