Diary of an Edinburgher

Mr and Mrs Schnauzer...

Bailey and her mum came to pick up Archie this morning. In J's new car. They went up Craiglockart Hill for a change, but mainly to avoid all the broken rolled hard boiled eggs on Blackford Hill - I well remember last year's mistake at Braidburn Valley Park, where Archie couldn't believe his luck and rushed around gobbling up dozens of 'em.

They returned an hour or so later, wet and grubby (not J!) though the dogs came in one at a time. Poor Bailey had to dry off in the car. JR paused in preparing lunch to give him a quick shower. Two showers in one weekend is not fair, is it, Arch?

Lunch was a delicious warm vegetarian salad including vege haggis. We wanted our Kiwi (vegan) visitor to try it. There is enough left over for tea, too, so I'm looking forward to that.

Our Kiwi visitor has just been travelling in Europe - Barcelona and Madrid, and is planning more travels. But it's not the carefree adventure it used to be. In fact some of her friends have already pulled out on parental advice insistence.

Archie and JR accompanied our Kiwi visitor home, and so he's happily snoozing on my lap for the evening. More salad for tea, chocolates that J brought, and the final episode of the Night Manager. What could be better?
