New fence

We have been trying very hard to get our fence painted, but every time we do it rains or has just rained! It's very nearly done now! 

The day didn't really go to plan but it was a nice one - we had arranged to see friends, and Katie got dressed to do that when we found out that wasn't happening. So she put on jammies again instead. We did lots of painting (fence and on paper), we bought some lunch, we played lots... We got a message asking if we wanted to go to see B (our music teacher) for afternoon coffee, which Katie did in her onesie as she was swimming later. The sneaky dear had bought me a birthday present as she's away for my birthday. She also had some theory papers for Katie (which genuinely excited Katie). We had a lovely time, lots of chocolate and a loooot of time with Katie playing bagatelle. We're definitely lucky that we landed a fab friend as well as a music teacher. She's going away to India again in a month's time and Katie is going to miss her so much this trip. But the super star that she is, she's arranged that Katie will have some lessons over FaceTime and has bought some books that Katie won't know about until she's in need of some musical pick-her-ups whilst she's away. 

After we'd been to B's we came home and gave Katie an early tea before her swimming lesson. The pace was quite serious today - there were only three of them and he worked them really hard. They did about 22 lengths in the time and didn't stop. During their diving practise, they went off the starters block in a proper plunge dive for the first time. Even jumping off there used to frighten Katie. Today she went off it quite happily!
