Diary of an Edinburgher

Visitors!

Archie and I had a big sit out in the warm sunshine this morning. He loves it - puts his wee head up to the sun, closes his eyes and smiles. We had visitors, too - wee Reuben and his dad popped by and stopped for a coffee. Reuben and Archie eyed each other suspiciously from the safety of respective laps.

Our visitors, Joanne and Murray arrived early afternoon bearing gifts (cheese and wine - perfect) and Archie soon ingratiated himself with them (after the obligatory barking, of course).

It was such a beautiful afternoon, we drove to Blackford Hill and all had a stroll in the sunshine. I really did not need my coat and hat today, the first such day this year.

Murray could throw sticks quite far, so he tried to engage in a fetch-the-stick game with Archie without a lot of success. Archie would run after the stick all right, but wouldn't give it back. Good fun for both of them.

Back home for some celebratory bubbly - JR had to go back to school for a parents' evening, so none for her! But she managed to get back in time for tea/dinner/supper, which I "made"... Well, it was a venison casserole, so just needed to be popped in the oven, along with mashed potatoes and red cabbage. Yum yum. I am quite good at just heating things up...

From my bed I can see Archie still sitting up in his bed in the hall, puzzling about the two extra people in his room.

Perhaps a trip to the beach tomorrow...
