Snaabul

It's been a windy day and was woken up with rain bouncing off the window this morning.  It slowly got better through the day but remained windy.

Day off and up early to enjoy the day.  Mam picked up friend Emma from Lerwick.  Emma has returned to Shetland for a holiday from America.  They came over and picked me up and off we went for a run up north.  First stop, Frankie's for a cuppa and cake and then to Northmavine.  A look around Sullom, in the Gunnister and Nibon road and then out to the Breiwick café for lunch.  After lunch a walk about Eshaness cliffs, Stenness and on to Johnnie Notions bod.  Had a wonderful day out :)  Working this evening in the museum, night cover needed for a few nights.  An early finish and feet up with a movie :)

While in the Gunnister road, we went for a walkabout the old houses and ruins.  I have blipped this house a few years ago and it's fairly gone down hill since then.  Another sad end to a wonderful house and not be long before it's roofless too.  Me and mam enjoyed old memories of family picnics here with my grandparents etc, and my sister Julie finding a rubber doll in the outbuilding on the left, she thought it was a dead body!  Taken at Snaabul (Snowbull), Gunnister.
