Thialf an Tirricks

A fine warm day but mostly cloudy.  The sun has tried to come out a few times but didn't last long.

It's been a steady day working on the museum desk.  Various jobs needed done in the morning.  I enjoyed a lunchtime walk about Lerwick, even managed to catch some sunshine too :)  And then it was back to work and lots to be done in the afternoon.  The lasses were busy decorating the museum auditorium for a wedding this weekend and I was busy setting up for an event on tomorrow.  Met up with my friend Emma this evening.  She heads back to New Foundland soon.  We went for a walk to see if we could find some otters but had no joy, next time she's here :)  We did enjoy a cuppa at Fjara cafe after :)  A quiet night at home now :)

Me and Emma enjoyed a fine walk along the banks at Ukinsetter but no otters to be seen.  There was plenty of other things to look at, various birds, including a nesting site of tirricks and then there was also the return on the mega huge crane, the Thialf.  She's been here a few times now but always great to look at :)  She fairly dwarfs the Ord cliffs behind on Bressay, and they are over 400ft high!  Taken from Unkinsetter, Cunningsburgh.
