A Drink of Water and a Murray Mint......

....was what was on offer after a gruelling trek across very uneven boggy marshy stuff....through long grass and spiky gorse bush........to get to the stones @ Breeny Mor......as with yesterdays trip across similar stuff it was well worth the trip when we go there.......yes! it was like being on top of the world the view was just amazing.

We started off the day by visiting another Ladys Holy Well @ Kealkill (extra)......it was just gorgeous. Then on to Carraiganass Castle....which translates to  .....Rock on the waterfall (extra).
When we got to Maughanasilly Stone Row  (extra) a nail had been discovered in the tyre so after we spent time mooching around those lovely stones we headed back to Bantry to get the tyre fixed and to have some lunch at the same time.
The day was gorgeous...the sky full of fluffy clouds again...we were a little band of adventurers hooting around the country side in Hector .....Freespirals little car........searching out other fabulous places.
So after the lunch and a fixed tyre we backtracked past the castle up to Kealkill Standing stones and radial cairn (extra)...again it was traversing very muddy terrain ...the view as usual from all the standing stones I have been to was just awesome.........it was after this we went to the Breeny Mor stones...I am adding another image of the folk tromping through the long grass.........I have to say...I rather enjoy going through that grass not having to sorry about snakes or other creepy crawlies.
When we finally got back to the car...my tongue dragging on the ground and feeling rather windswept and bedraggled... it was then I was offered the murray mint.....it had been a long time since I have had one of them.

Then on to St Finbarrs Oratory (extra)...a place which I was told is the most photographed place in Ireland...well what to say..it was just lovely (extra)...we had a cup of tea and a bit of cake which fortified us for the walk around ......and the visit to two other holy wells.

On the way back home we decided to have some fish n chips..(lovely they were) so no cooking needed to be done. When we finally arrived at the homestead we were all pretty pooped I reckon ...and ready for another couple of episodes of GOT.
