Life with The Pinks

The Olympics - Team Pink

It's been one of those days when you have so many images to choose from that you can't pick one. So I chose a rare photo of the four of us, at the Olympics. It was taken by a very lovely Olympic helper who was more than happy to oblige.
We went to the Horse Guards Parade for the morning session of the Beach Volleyball. the morning started early - 5.30am start for grown ups and 6am for minis. Breakfast was a cereal bar each on the tube and a shared carton of orange juice. But we made it. And the kids were brilliant. The atmosphere in the stadium and concourse was electric (as it is all over London). The commentator was great, and there was huge emphasis on audience participation so we were clapping, and singing and olay'ing our hearts out! I'm not sure that the mini pinks were as enthused as we were, but Master Pink enjoyed the "sweepers" (the people who raked the sand to the benny hill theme) and Miss Pink was bopping away to the music. She also enjoyed the view of Big Ben and the London Eye from where we sat. The matches (we saw three and decided to leave before the fourth to avoid mini pink meltdowns) were amazing. One female match and two men's matches. The second of the men's matches was the Brazillian team (world No1) and Austrian team (world no.44). You can tell why the Brazillians are the number ones, but the Austrians held their own. Ooh it was exciting.

After our olymic activities we went over to Covent Garden to meet up with my uni friend Rachel and her partner. Rachel is one of my friends from uni, and it was lovley to see her, It's always lovely when you can pick up where you left off.

After our lunch we headed home where Granny Taxis picked us up. Tonight team Pink are rather shattered. It's been a good weekend.
