Cheynes IV

The day started chilly but soon warmed up and then cooled down again this evening!

After a really quiet night in Albany, it was an early start today.  We had a look about the small city this morning and then on our travels.  We went to the Gap for a look and walked over the overhang walkway, on to the whaling museum and then Denmark for lunch.  Later we stopped by the Tingling trees at Walpole and staying in the village for the night.

The whaling station was a great tourist attraction and well worth the visit.  Being the grandson of a whaler, I was made up with the history of it.  We toured over the factory and station and then to the catcher, with a 3D film too.  My granddad sailed on a similar vessel in South Georgia and hope he was with me here today.  Thankfully whaling stopped hwre in 1978.  Granddad would have been on similar ship as this Cheynes IV until 1963, taken at Cheynes Beach, Frenchman Bay, Albany.
