Cycling in the afternoon
Archie has quietly been having short lived 'episodes' most days, but last night he had a long one. He jumped out of his bed (in the hall) shorty after he'd gone to bed and we just tried leaving him, thinking he would eventually go back to bed. But, quite a long time later, JR got up to investigate and found him standing with his back to the wall looking 'distressed/worried' (hard to tell with those eyebrows). So into bed he came for the whole night, where he settles down immediately. In the morning, he continued his nose-in-the-air sniffing with sudden dashes to a wall to stand. Weird behaviour. And we're thinking of leaving him and going on holiday?? To be fair, all the dog sitters he's been with have him sleeping on their bed anyway, so that's not really a problem. And perhaps he's not distressed, just confused.
Luke and Kerri came to take him out this morning. I was delighted to be able to give them a voucher for a meal for two at a local trendy eatery. I'd bought the voucher ages ago, left it to the last weekend to book, and of course, it was booked up. The only time was 8.30 tonight. Too late for us old codgers. Besides, I'm not sure I could do it justice at the moment. They were happy to oblige.
Archie and I watched the cycling in the afternoon, while JR went shopping, then popped next door to feed Tinkerbelle - the neighbours have gone on holiday. The bike race was a fantastic route, through the city and lovely countryside, although I do hope they have folk collecting all the plastic water bottles the cyclists kept chucking into the bushes, though I suppose one can't expect them to find a litter bin if they're in a race.
JR is doing extensive holiday research, her favourite iPad occupation. We may be able to fit in a between-the-knees holiday in September. Archie willing.
Had a very delicious quiche and salad for tea. And a coffee.
