Thistles In The Sun
A very breezy day and it wasn't easy trying to photograph the thistle heads as they blew around in the wind.
I used a wide aperture to throw the background out of focus and I quite liked the patterns produced by the drying pods of the oilseed rape behind.
I did notice that a lot of the pods had split and the seed were being scattered - hope the farmer doesn't lose too much of his crop.
An alternative shot added as an extra.
