Fun day

This just sums up everything that I love about this lady.  She's fun, is always positive, kind, caring, concerned for others even when she is juggling lots of things in her own life.  In fact, that sums up all of the gang who came out today (and the girls who couldn't make it - they are just as amazing).  She brought these hilarious napkins...

Aside from running about a kilometre by running away from wasps, I had a lovely afternoon.  Everyone brought different types of food - amazing cakes, lots of fruit, naughty crisps, a selection of cheeses that a restaurant would have been proud of, sweets and biscuits, a selection of savoury pastries, crackers...couldn't have asked for a better spread.  Flasks full of hot water allowed us all to have tea.

The only (brief) annoyance apart from the wasps was a particularly stroppy boy (probably about 11 years old) who took umbridge at me asking him and his friends to take their football kickabout away from us.  I explained nicely (yes, nicely) that there was a baby in the group etc etc.  To say he was truculent would be a polite description of his demeanour.  Nonetheless, he buggered off eventually so all was well - if he hadn't have done, we were all set to unleash our Scottish warrior into battle.

The wasps , or rather, my frequent and spectacular running away from them, frantically waving my hands and muttering obscenities, caused amusement.

It was a lovely few hours and a perfect way to bring my few months of skiving off work to an end.  Back to it on Thursday, tomorrow will be a day of preparation in front of my computer at home.
