Today's the day .................... for a fly past

It's a sure sign that autumn is upon us when you see v-shaped lines in the sky of geese on their way to fresh feeding grounds.  I saw these ones this morning over Kendal heading westwards towards Morecambe Bay.

By the end of the day, I was much further north in Dumfries & Galloway and as you can see in the extra, the sky was full of geese.  There were thousands of them and the air was full of their honking.  They were probably on their way to the Solway Firth.

The wonder of nature, eh ...............................................?
