Enroute
To Utrecht via Manchester and Amsterdam.
Leaving Cumbria I stopped for a coffee for the road and paused to admire a view I hope I never take for granted. The beautiful rounded hills of the Howgills -always a welcome sight, the mark of being home.
I'm very lucky to live betwixt the UK's two finest Services - Westmorland for food, coffee and meetings - and Killington for the view. I appreciate other people may be biased towards their local offerings, and whilst we're in a world gone mad and I know its important to respect their opinions - obviously they're wrong ;)
My extra is a plain and simple journal shot for when the memory isn't what it should be. Many many years, heck a lifetime ago, I lived in Amsterdam for 3 months - I don't think I've been to the Netherlands in two decades. Now I'm back in the flatest place in Europe* for the Annual General Assembly of the Union of International Mountain Leader Associations - I don't know my international colleagues well enough yet to know if any irony is intended....
*no idea if that's an actual fact!
