Yorvik

We made it to York today. Andrew had planned a day for us, but had to modify it as we had brought Pepper!
We all went for breakfast to a lovely cafe and had poached eggs and dog biscuits, then a walk through the Christmas markets and a look at the temporary Yorvik display where George and Rob tried to engage one of the locals in conversation !
Pepper then stayed in the house for the afternoon, while we had a visit to the Minster and Rob and I climbed the 278 very narrow spiral steps to the top of the tower. We were lucky to have a good clear day and the views do make it worth the climb see extra. York is remarkable in having maintained its low profile skyline and so much of the old city, which you can appreciate from up here. And we could make out the Kilburn white horse from last week!
Then on to the White Swan for some more of their excellent mulled wine before an early supper at Cafe Rouge, always good.
George was the model of sweetness as ever, and it was so lovely to see him and Sophie again.
