Two parties, one day

I went to the gym this morning - with two parties to go this afternoon it seemed a good move!

Not as bad as it sounds though - because of the timing we were only able to call in on a Golden Wedding party to give our congratulations to dear friends. We did not know them when they got married, but have been friends since their #3 daughter and our eldest met on their first day at school, and she insisted we go to her house to see her baby brother. That was over 40 years ago.

We then drove to Whitley Bay to go to Splat where Thomas was having his 4th birthday party. It was a great place for a dozen kids - a soft play establishment so they all played in that, then food was provided, then they sang happy birthday which is happening in the blip, before going into another room where one of the staff did games like pass the parcel and musical statues. We all did Hokey Kokey. The staff even did the party bags and cut up the cake for the bags.

It was so much easier than last year when Thomas was 3 - I had to go into the soft play area with Nathaniel who was scared on his own, and James disappeared when it was home time - he'd got himself stuck up a slide. They all played really nicely - if noisily!

In the picture we can see James, Ella, Thomas and Nathaniel, and some of the friends and parents.

Phew, home now and I'm going to watch last night's Strictly and tonight's as well. I have Louise in the sweepstake but I think Danny will win.
