Saltaire Advent windows
Three of us blippers were unable to go to last week's blipmeet in Saltaire to view the Advent windows so we decided to go tonight instead with a week's more of them to view.
Corinthian Column and I, together with friend A, got the train from Bingley and met Yorkshirebred and her daughter L there as they got off the train from Leeds. We were very lucky to have L with us as she could actually read the guide in the dim light.
We started with a drin in 'Don't Tell Sir Titus' and then a spent a pleasant couple of hours walking around the World Heritage village. I got photographs of 20 of them which seems about right but there are actullay 10 number 1's I suppose to get the ball rolling!
I chose this as it is so Christmassy but many had themes relating to Saltaire (I'm afraid I don't know the number of it many didn't have them) but I particularly liked the ones relating to the rules of the village. The village was built for mill workers by Sir Titus Salt and he deemed that there should be no washing hanging outside the houses, though there was a hanging ground; no animals and no pubs hence the name of the bar we visited.
There was an amazing sky just before we set off and I captured the reflection of it in one of the bedroom windows - extra.
More windows here
Sad news tonight. There has been a runaway lorry (deliberate) through the Christmas market in the Kurfurstendam around the Kaiser Wilhelm church in Berlin. We were there last Thursday https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2256180670114037777 - . So many people enjoying themselves and probably many on their way home from work. Will it never end?
