.....the long and winding road....

Derek, Brian, Sue and Vicky preparing to take their leave and head home.

Another hearty breakfast of bacon, eggs and bagels.......car packed up....visitor's book filled in and they departed with many a backward glance....Derek forgot to collect his scotch pie from the fridge.....one or other of them left six cans of coke...but they remembered to take the Glen Livet!

The Boss and I spent a peaceful morning sitting in the garden reading......the Mustang returned and did two fly by's up the glen.....we had a sandwich for lunch and then headed off to a place we took the kids to many years ago.........the Sea Life Centre.

It started to rain as we approached....but a bit of rain doesn't put us off. We watched the otters get fed........and then the seal....then we went into the aquarium and spent a good hour looking at the exhibits.....I couldn't resist stroking the rays and the sharks as they swam past...eventually we left just before the 5.00 p.m. closing time.

Nipped into Port Appin on the way back to Glencoe.....we wanted to see if the ferry man was still on form. When we visited years ago the ferry man called into the hotel for a pint every couple of crossings....and the hotel staff told us you could tell how many he'd had by his route across the water....we saw what they described as a "five pinter"! Alas the hotel has been "upgraded" and now sports a very good seafood restaurant, but the ferry man is no longer encouraged to call in for a beer. So we strolled along the jetty and then headed off.

On a whim we decided to stop off at the Holly Tree for dinner....the Boss had a rib eye steak and I had the unusual combination of haggis and pan-fried chicken in a peppercorn sauce.

Back to the house for more quiet reading.....a few glasses of wine and then bed.

Das vidanya moy padruga.
