Today was much more difficult than I thought it was going to be. Grieving is hard but doing so while watching your loved ones grieve is really hard. None of us wanted granddad to carry on suffering but, nevertheless, we all feel his absence. 

Today was a celebration of a life well lived. A life of love, of service, of humility and of faithfulness. We celebrated granddad and we celebrated the God who created and kept him. 

Amidst the sadness there were great stories of fun and adventure told, beautiful hymns sung and comforting scripture read. It really was a great send off for a truly great man.
