Coincidently...
One hundred and thirteen years old.
Published in 1899.
It was also in this year that Henry Tate, of Tate & Lyle sugar and also the gallery, died.
Really, you might well say!
This book was purchased not a million miles from where Henry Tate was born.
I am currently sitting just a short walk from where Henry Tate was born.
For a local lad he did alright for himself I think. By the time this book was published Henry Tate had lived his life and left quite a legacy behind and not just the sugar cube, which he didn't actually invent, but cannily bought the rights to.
One lump or two...?!
