The Black King's Hobby

Off the chessboard the chessmen have curious habits,
The Black King, for instance, keeps lots of pet rabbits.
At first he had two in an ample blue hutch,
"But two," said the Black King, "is not very much."
"I remember," the Queen said, "when you had not any.
And you mean," she chastised him, "not 'much', but 'not many'!"
The King shrugged his shoulders, and smiled. "You are funny,
I'd like to see much more than many a bunny!"
His wish soon came true as such wishes will do
When concerning young rabbits who won't stay at two.
And when one is a buck and the other's a doe,
Then the Black King's new hobby was destined to grow.
Call them 'more', 'much' or 'many' or any such thing,
The hutch is now bulging to the joy of the King.
