Norway Day Two

What a night! Not much of it, actually. I slept like a log, but at 2.30am JR looked out the window and exclaimed in delight - the sunset, or was it sunrise - was pink and glowing. I had to go out for a look and so wandered out in my bare feet and nightie. Nobody else around, fortunately. I also went out at 7.30 when we docked in a wee village. I donned my jeans as well, because there were a few folk around by this time.

What a wonderful day we've had! An excellent breakfast - including two types of pancake, then blue skies, sunshine, spectacular scenery and the highlight today - sailing up the famous Geiranger Fjord. Magical. Spectacular: Waterfalls like net curtains, improbable wee houses stuck half way up almost vertical tree clad hillsides with no visible means of access, and two jet fighters practising their driving skills down the very narrow fjord.

We had a set meal this evening, not a buffet, which wasn't as good. For entree we had the famous Norwegian Klippfisk, a dried salted cod which is as much a delicacy here as Parma ham or salami in their countries. Hmmmm. We weren't particularly enamoured. But the main course was tasty - lamb.
