One to watch

My great-nephew is eight today. His birthday treat was to make his debut in a real petrol kart, racing his mother, father, uncle and his uncle's partner. Eight is the youngest age they will allow anyone to race.

He was unfazed. He got used to it very quickly. The grown up relatives zoomed round, and he knew how to race them, change the line to block them, overtake them. He was a natural.

I learned later that he's taken part in a couple of junior "Grand Prix" races, using electric children's cars. And he won both.

Today his car was a little smaller than the adult ones (to accommodate child size) and it was allegedly a bit slower.

But it didn't stop him stealing the show......

The extra is to show how he was quite content to battle it out with the big ones. Watch this space.....
