Wonderful

I think today may have been one of my favourite days of the summer so far (I'm rather sad that we are 2 weeks through already, I can't quite believe it). Anyway.... we had booked Katie in for a kids' multisports class at the gym so arrived for that. She had about 30 seconds of being mildly shy before hearing there was a second class to follow and begging to be allowed to do that too then running off with the boys and a giant tennis ball. I had an absolutely glorious time in the outdoor pool with it to myself for most of the time. I had time in the sauna and the jacuzzi. I swam again. I even drank a latte. I picked her up and she was desperate to swim again.... so back in the outdoor pool we went! She is working hard at getting back her good swimming skills but we also had an awful lot of fabulous time just playing.

We got home, stopping off to buy a few things for the afternoon, and I made her some lunch. She did a really good music practise- her new pieces on both instruments have very much appealed to her. Her new clarinet piece is absolutely beautiful.

We packed our stuff and then headed off to one of our favourite annual events of the year- our friends' annual BBQ and water fight. Slip and slide rounders, zip wires, trampoline assault course, a new home built timber climbing frame and insane amounts of food & drink. The evening progresses into a large bonfire, which my friend Steve and I supervise, and trailer rides, late night zip wire, marshmallows on the fire pits, a beautiful sunset, tents and wonderful company. We decided not to sleep over this year, but stayed until she'd have gone to bed anyway.

It really has been such a chilled out, wonderful day
