Secret garden

What a busy day - for Archie and JR, though fairly relaxed for me...

First of all, Kerri and Luke came to take Archie out for the morning while we both went to the gym. A good start. JR then went to her executive housekeeping duties, and I busied myself with household duties that I hadn't bothered doing yesterday.

Our friend Mavis arrived in the afternoon, and soon it was time for gins and tasty nibbles. I'd warned her about Archie's barking, but he came in without a peep - no use barking at an supposed intruder if they're already ensconced on the sofa.

We had a delicious tea, Thai chicken green curry with amaretti peaches (baked peaches with crumbed amaretti biscuits) for pudding.

It's been great to catch up with Mavis after all these years. And we've found a new volunteer for looking after Archie when we're off on holiday!

This photo was taken by Elizabeth - Archie is looking over the wall at the secret garden next door
