Fruit
I have to say both Dan and Abi impressed me, today, although it was Dan who really surprised me. As I've said on here previously, Abi is excellent at present buying and Dan really only lacks in this area of expertise in comparison to her.
This evening was the first time the pair of them had seen the miniMinx since her birthday. Knowing that the miniMinx loves fruit, Abi had been to Booths and bought a mound of fruit - including the mM's favourite, physalis - as well as some Revels and fruit gums. When I arrived home to pick her up, she and Milly were assembling the fruit in a basket.
As we drove down to pick up Dan from work, Abi said he'd sent her a text earlier asking which role the miniMinx had in her school's forthcoming Shakespeare play. Abi and I shook our heads and agreed it was a bit late for Dan to be asking important present buying questions like that.
Well, the miniMinx was bowled by the fruit and I felt a bit sorry for Dan, to be honest, who (as far as I knew <-- spoiler) had just bought a box of Celebrations for her. My folks, who are visiting Manchester at the moment, turned up for dinner, and we all had a splendid evening, with amazing food prepared by the Minx, so that it was only at the close that the miniMinx opened Dan's card.
Inside the envelope, along with the card, was a laminated copy of all of the miniMinx's lines for the Shakespeare play. Everyone - including me, of course - thought that this was a brilliant present. I was so delighted by such an imaginative gift and also so pleased for the little* fella for showing that he can do good presents, too.
*currently around six foot three, by my estimation

-9.7 kgs While I think there was about a kilo of weight gain from the wedding/London/Edinburgh week, I'm not too worried about the weight I'm putting on. My percentage body fat and waist are still fine so I think it's just muscle gain from running harder and further. Fingers crossed!
