hero worship

Karine Polwart is my hero, the first choice of guest at my dream dinner party. Today Sarah and I took part in a singing workshop led by her at Loch Arthur, and then there was a wonderful concert where she sang songs about subjects as diverse as the industrial landscape of Grangemouth, the paper boat on the Clyde (a song performed at the opening of the Queensferry Crossing), an address to Donald Trump by a lump of Lewissian Gneiss, and the King of Birds (that's the wren, if you don't know).

We also went to an unexpected dinner party...D had packed us up a picnic to eat between the workshop and concert but it wasn't sitting outdoors weather so my kind friend Sherrie invited us to eat it at her house, with some tasty homemade soup. 

Sarah drove us to Loch Arthur and back, to get some driving practice after passing her test. She did great :-)
