Farewell KL

It's been a really great day today, on a lot of different levels. The sadness is that just as we are finally getting to the point of deepening friendships to a more meaningful level, it's time to move on.

This morning we spent time at a day care project run by the local church. The project seeks to support young people with learning difficulties and give them some skills for independent living. It was good to hang out with them, laugh together, sing together and eat together.

This afternoon we had a brief visit to an old people's residential care home and hear a little from the guy who started the project. We've met some inspiring people out here and he was definitely one of them.

Back to church where we finally all got together as the Lichfield Team, all eight of us, after some had arrived from the UK, some from Laos, some from Singapore. It was good to be together, pray together and have a catch up and a look forward.

This evening we had a formal dinner with all the Lichfield team, plus all of the various people we've been with over the last few days, plus past exchange students plus Archbishop Moon H. Ng. A fun time, loads of laughter, a bit of dancing and I got to hang out some more with these girls: Helina, who's house we've been staying at and Abigail, who's been showing us around a bit. Really fun girls! They've both spent a year in Litchfield and in fact, Abi was at a little village called Criftins, just before I would have been there as a schools worker.

On to Penang tomorrow. Hopefully more great people plus the prospect of even better food and a meet up with Abby's family (who is currently in Shrewsbury).
