My life, my lens

Dunwich coast

We awoke to a perfect sunny day and it wasn't long before all tents were unzipped and the camp stoves were cooking. It was bacon and egg sarnies all round before packing bags and heading to the beach. The campsite has steps straight down onto the beach and Suffolk's beautiful coastline. We walked along the beach and into Dunwich and the Ship Inn. We choose the Ship as it had a beer festival on and we tried a range of local Suffolk brews. The pub beer garden was a great suntrap but we decided to hop next door to Dunwich museum. It tells the story of the city that fell into the sea but we had most fun trying on a variety of hats! Back to the pub to try the remainder of the beer festival choices with a yummy cheese souffle. After spliting into two groups we raced each other back to the campsite. Julia's group went the beach way and Wendy's gang went inland as we wanted to try a different route through the forest. Our walk took us past ruins, cliff tops, the forest where we saw two deer and a pig and then back into camp. The others beat us home but we did stop in the camp shop to restock on cider.

Another great evening with amazing BBQ food and salads. It was another competition to see who could get on the most layers to stay warm as we chatted late into the night as the temperature continued to drop. Its been a great day with loads of laughs, perfect weather and brilliant friends.
