Remembrance 2

Armistice Day, Clare and I had breakfast, dressed and made our way to the Prince of Wales Pier for 1050.
With ‘proper’ Armistice Day weather, strong winds, rain and biting cold the Civic Dignitaries and Veterans gathered for the short service.
Once over we were making our way home for coffee when we stopped to talk to our friend and Poppy Organiser, Wendy, and learnt that the young Poppy Collector had been spat on that morning.
Disgusting behaviour that has been caught on CCTV but you could almost bet your mortgage on nothing being done.
Next stop the Membly Hall for the RNA Taranto Lunch, thoroughly enjoyable. A couple of tots of rum, a couple of beers and a couple of glasses of red wine eased the afternoon past effortlessly.
After being possibly the best dressed shoppers in Sainsbury’s Clare and I headed home for a rare night in together, blazing fire and the TV.
