Diary of an Edinburgher

More snow!!

Positively dangerous on my round-the-block morning stroll with Archie. ICY! I can’t remember having such a cold winter.

I popped slithered up the road to the gym and did my bit, painfully, then watched tennis when I came home - a great game between Kyrgios and Dimitrov.

Becky called off her morning date with Archie - she couldn’t walk here, the pavements were too icy. Jings!

Archie has a wee trick of sitting right in front of you, staring unblinkingly, when he thinks it's about time he went out for a walk. He cannot be ignored. We eventually decided to take him up the hill, and got all our coats on. Then it started to snow. Quite a blizzard, too. But it's just not possible to explain to a dog who is standing expectantly by the door, coat on, that we've changed our minds, we'll just stay in...

And so we went. Actually, we didn’t go up the hill, we pulled off into the golf course, as we could see lovely fresh snowy hills. It was quite pleasant, as there was no wind, and the blizzard didn’t amount to much. Archie forgot about his hated coat and charged around, running between us or chasing the ball, or just rubbing his beard in the snow.

Back home to get the fire blazing and watch last night's Spiral. Ooooh! Judge Roban...
