Diary of an Edinburgher

Movie afternoon

Put the radio on at 6am (thought it was 7am) and lay awake waiting for 8am to get up, take Archie out and then go aquafit. Well, the best laid plans... fell asleep and woke to an enthusiastic woman extolling the joys of maths. So Today had finished, in fact, it was 9.15am. Oops. No aquafit. There is actually a 10am session, but it's always booked up. Anyway, there's no cubicles left, as the first lot are still there.

I did do my torture on the cross trainer. No, not getting easier, though I did tramp through the Sierra Nevada today.

Archie's new Walker, Isobel, came today, though the weather was rather inclement. They weren’t out for very long this first time, but Isobel was delighted with him. In fact, JR was at the gym longer than they were away. Mind you, she did check out the Big Steps and returned to the rowing machine.

I watched the tennis - great matches, including the women's one. Gosh, they play very late over there - it finished after 1am. And well done Kyle Edmund!

Such a wet afternoon - perfect for the movies. So we went to the Silver Screening (cheap tickets, free cuppa and biccies) of 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri', as recommended by freespiral, and it has had rave reviews. It was terrific.

Even wetter when we walked back! Archie was quite happy for an afternoon with one of his special long lasting treats. He didn’t want to go out in the rain anyway. Don’t blame him.
