Diary of an Edinburgher

No weel...

Gym visit ✖️

No time for frivolities this morning. Wee Archie had a bad night. In fact, he wasn’t himself all day yesterday, with slight 'turns' most of the day, although he enjoyed walkies in the Meadows with Isobel.

His odd behaviour continued all evening. He wouldn't sit on the sofa with me. He wouldn’t even stay in the lounge. He spent a lot of time woofing at the back door, being let out, but woofing a few minutes later. He was SO unsettled, and this continued at bed time. He would not - could not - settle. He tried on the bed three times, but each time he was up again, trotting round the house, scraping vigorously at the rugs, woofing, even barking at the door, and growling to himself. He eventually settled on his bed in the kitchen about 4am. Most distressing for the wee lad. And us.

We went to the vet this morning - she is familiar with his wee turns. Of course, it may be a one-off, or could become a regular occurrence, we'll have to wait and see. His 'wee turns' have never gone away (I keep a note of them) but they only last a few minutes, and they're usually at night. The vet gave us some pills to use next time he has a prolonged 'turn' - they may be enough to calm him down. I know if it is epilepsy, it can be medicated, (apart from nasty side effects).

A new potential walker came to meet Archie this afternoon. He brightened up and showed a bit of interest (he's been snoozing all day after his walk), though that may have just been the treats that were in evidence while he went through his repertoire of tricks.

I had FUN this afternoon at my computer, organising playlists from ALL my music (and lots of new stuff) which I haven’t been able to access since my computer died, years ago.

EDIT: He's playing with turkey lurky! Good news.
