Eyemouth Day One

Gym visit ✖️

Didn’t have time for such frivolities today, but JR managed a visit, though shortened.

We were getting organised to set off on holiday. Actually, Archie has the biggest bag of stuff!

The chap came to fix the shower door (again) and he timed it nicely. New, soft, rubbery stuff at the bottom of the door, rendering it efficient and quiet. At last.

We set off about midday. We were going east, and it was only about an hour. I sat in the back with Archie in his harness, and he looked completely miserable the whole way. We turned off the motorway, and after a few miles of winding roads - yes - Archie was sick. But I was ready with a poo bag, so there was no mess. We stopped for him to have a wee run about, then on to our destination - Eyemouth.

We found the (dog friendly) cottage and had a wander round the town. The beach is great - though Archie discovered that two large swans rule one end of it. The harbour was interesting too, with a variety of vessels in various states of decay. Though there were some really flash ones too.

The cottage is super. Not only is it one minute from the beach, and two from the best chippie in town, it's very cosy, has shutters, Sky TV, a wee private back area, and private parking. But best of all - a coffee machine (we had actually brought ours!). Oh, and a bottle of prosecco. This is the best thing to leave really, as a supermarket is about a two minutes away and we can buy anything we need.

We have a special visitor tomorrow, but we won’t mention her name to Archie yet...
