SMUHA 2018
It had been thunder and lightning first thing, and headed off to work with rain. It soon stopped, and been a beautiful sunny and calm day. Another shower in the afternoon, but it cleared and a clear still perfect night.
I've been working on the museum desk all day all day, and busy with two school visits. I was working with WW2 workshops with the schools. It was a quieter afternoon, but nipped home at lunchtime to hang out washing. Been down to Sandwick tonight with friend Julie, and after the procession, we popped along with friends Robert and Shannon for a cuppa. Quiet night by the fire now.
It's coming to the end of Up Helly Aa season, and tonight is South Mainland on, 2nd last one. They struck it lucky with the perfect weather, and a great crowd to watch. Jarl Ian Bray and his squad looked fantastic, and also the galley. Followed with a brilliant fireworks display. Hope they all have a great night ahead. Taken at Sandsayre, Sandwick.
