Diary of an Edinburgher

Gym✔️ Twenty minutes on the cross trainer. And it's worth mentioning that I also went to the Commie Pool yesterday. I did one length (50m) very, very slowly. Then I just paddled up and down.

When we were in Bologna, we lusted after a decent pizza. Now, you think that would be easy in Italy. But it wasn’t. They were all ones with a thick crust and a modest filling in the middle. I wanted a thin crust, with the filling right to the edge. And so today we went to a well known UK chain specialising in pizzas.

We called in to wish Rufus's mum a happy birthday, who on hearing where we were going, gave us her code for a free birthday prosecco, which she wasn’t going to be able to use. Bonus! We both had a very satisfying pizza, washed down with the Prosecco. Perfect.

JR then hurried back home to Archie, who didn’t even bother getting up from his chewy bone when she came in - no worries about him pining while we're away!

I went on into town to return the shoes I bought the other day, as I decided they weren’t quite right. Though I did buy a pair that I’ve already got that were on sale. JR's insistence that I should buy them for future use eventually seemed fairly sensible.

I was pleased to catch The Spinning Blowfish playing in town. I usually arrive to see their very last notes. There were four chaps dancing around, which really added to everyone's enjoyment. Good show!
