Oldhamstocks Kirk
With my friends, John & Eric I went exploring deep into the East Lothian Countryside in the foothills of the Lammermuirs towards the eastern edge. The village of Oldhamstocks nestles deep in a valley and is an ancient settlement., going back well into the Middle Ages. The village kirk pictured here in this blip was consecrated in 1292. The village is both picturesque when viewed from Cocklaw Hill (see extra) and at close quarters. In today's balmy weather it felt like stepping back in history. There is an exhibition in the church which gives a detailed history of the settlement.
