Souvenir

Not obviously Scottish, but I did get it in Scotland this week. I love glass and was attracted to this first by its clarity but then saw the design inside - a witch with a broomstick - appropriate for me!  It was explained that the design is made by laser - two laser beams meeting inside the solid globe are sufficient to melt a small globule of glass leaving a 'bubble'. The placing of the hundreds of bubbles makes the design - which must require great accuracy and artistry. Fascinating!
