Saturday interlude

Great to be able to take some time out and spend a while watching village cricket  . . . and in the background the Wellow and Plaitford Cricket Club’s new pavilion home.

It was formally opened just a week ago by the leader of Hampshire County Council, Councillor Roy Perry cutting a ribbon.

Today’s match therefore had special significance with the players being able to draw on the full facilities of the new home, provided at a cost of £30,000.

It was funded primarily by the local authority, Test Valley Borough Council, as well as private donations.
