Hot!

With the prospect of a high of 26° today (I know, the rest of the country would love cool temps like that) we decided to leave town and have a cool drive to Peebles.

JR didn’t feel too well, bit of an upset tum, so we abandoned the idea, but then she came right, so after rustling up a couple of wraps for a picnic, off we went.

We had a grand day. Not too far to drive - Archie sat on my lap the whole way (I wasn’t the driver!) and he wasn’t sick.
It's an excellent walk along the river - you can walk for miles, but we crossed the wee bridge and came back on the other side, (Extra 1) partly through thick shady woodland (6267 steps). We sat on the river bank and had a picnic, and JR was on hand to help me get up again (when there was nobody around to witness the pantomime). Archie was in and out of the water the whole time. Just standing. No swimming. (Extra 2)

We made it home without any (doggie) vomit. Well, only by stopping (just down the road from home) and letting him have a wee walk.

JR has had a relapse and has gone to bed. Can’t be sunstroke, as we were in the shade the whole way. The temperature was 29°! Rain expected tomorrow. Yay!
