Maize

After work I popped to allotment #1. I'd not visited since Thursday and during that time the squash and courgettes had grown lots. A fox had also been trying to dig its way under the rabbit and deer fencing - I assume to get to some food during the hot weather. I harvested courgettes, marrows, Swiss chard and blackberries (very early this year). I also spent a pleasant hour or so tidying up the plants in the garden after all the wind and rain yesterday. In the background of this photo you can see my maize plants which are about 6ft tall! The cobs are just starting to form on them.
