Grey Squirrel
Corin and I found ourselves without boy wonder this afternoon, so we went for a brief wander around Risley Moss.
We had barely walked up the path when some geezer in camo gear wanders over and asks if we were going to be taking photos. Not sure if the big camera and lens hanging around my neck was the giveaway factor...
He then starts to tell us about how he has been effectively stalking a grey wagtail in the Moss all week. We got all of the details, even down to the fact that he had to put his heating on last night to dry his clothes out.
I swear I have a sign that floats above me that says "Weirdos, feel free to stop and chat".
Anyway, the wagtail was nowhere to be seen. There were plenty of birds, of the feathered variety, knocking about at the hide, but none of them stayed still for long enough to take a decent photo of in low, and declining, light. However, the squirrels were quite accommodating.
James has just returned from an afternoon in town with his mates. They've apparently been to Nandos for lunch, then have done their Christmas shopping...some of them have already swapped presents, others are keeping them to swap at Christmas. He's managed getting train tickets, getting into town and back on the train and being organised enough not to lose his money or his phone.
Growing up so fast.
