Simple Simon's Pies!

Today we had a 'whistle stop' visitor in the form of Hilde our German friend from Oman...so it was inevitable we would end up dining out somewhere in the vicinity of the airport so she could make her customary frantic dash for the flight back to Muscat!!

The chosen destination? Dubliners!!! an Irish style pub attached very firmly to the Meridian Hotel. Sunday night is sports night...with large screens showing various 'games' in progress, each screen accompanied by a representative number of noisy fans vying for shouting rights!!! Tonight's winners had to be the Grand Prix crew...with Sebastian Vettel coming in a close second!

We ordered our meals and gravitated outside in deference to the sanctity of our eardrums...and this is what arrived for GK!!!!!!!

Don't ask where she put it all.....but put it she did....don't think they needed to wash the plate at the end. (Am I not feeding her enough!0 Hilde and I were more refined and had delicate portions of Hamour (local fish) and chips! Delicious.

The local Ford truck just happened to be delivering its casks of Guinness. Hilde indulged..not I, and Gk washed that enormous pie down with a lager shandy!!!

Another great couple of hours in good company with good food.
