Family day
We had a call yesterday from grandson George asking that we check out the car that he is buying with our help. He wanted our approval as we would have an interest in it. It's all happening fast now that he has passed his driving test. Such excitement!
George then went off to work ( trolley collecting at Tesco), Normous and J settled down to watch the rugby international.
D.i.l and I had planned to walk along the towpath of the canal at Aldermaston but it was tipping it down with rain so we visited a huge new "Garden Centre" near their home. We didn't get as far as the garden part of the store. There was a very interesting food section, then we reached home ware (where I spotted these attractive cushions) and finally we found ourselves in a massive Christmas department. Who could believe that year after year they can produce more and more incredible creations? Fun to look at, but we didn't buy. Instead we went to the cafe and had tea and cakes.
By the evening there was no sign of the heavy rain stopping and we had a horrible journey home. I was pleased I wasn't driving.
