My happy place

Today I have been in the biggest grump. It has been a tough day. Still, we managed to achieve things: putting the citrus tea in jars, and the hot chocolate mix into jars, reducing and canning the chicken stock, a walk into town for lunch and nappies, and packing for a couple of days away. Mum and Dad will be staying to look after Ben - he said this morning that he didn't want to go to school but we dropped him off on the way back from town and he went in quite happily, even with me saying we'll see him on Sunday. Hope he's ok. I'll miss him, as frustrating as he can be!

Our journey to Gloucester for this "Regions Beyond" conference has been traumatic. Charley is ok witg car journeys generally, but not once it gets to bedtime: he wants cuddles and bed. So what should have been a three and a half hour journey turned into five and a half hours, what with me misinterpreting the satnav's idea of how to get there while Charley screamed, and having to stop a couple of times for Charley. BUT, they saved us a couple of plates of food for us and instead of going to the buffet we went straight to our lodgings.

And in our bedroom, placed there just that day, was an embroidered hoop bearing the legend "this is my happy place".

Couldn't have been more perfect :)
