Today's the day . . . . . . . . . . . . to excel

I've just been to probably one of the best gigs I've ever experienced - Katie Melua at The Sage in Gateshead.

Such a magnificent venue - purpose built to give audiences a comfortable seat and a perfect view of the performance.  Acoustics were superb.  The extra is a view from there out over the River Tyne.

As to Katie herself - such an accomplished singer/songwriter - she was superb.  So modest and unassuming, she didn't put a foot wrong throughout the whole performance.  She was in good company too with the Gori Ladies Choir and her backing musicians, one of whom was her brother.

An exquisite night's entertainment that I just didn't want to end . . . . . . .
