Here We Go
You never learn, so the saying goes, up reasonably early to go down town.
Baker Toms first stop to pick up bread, rolls, cakes etc (only found out on arriving home that we had left the bread behind).
Next stop M&S, for the last few years we have bought our Christmas Lunch from M&S, all fresh but preprepared, no waste.
Then to the Palacio Lounge for brunch before heading home.
Our Christmas may sound a bit commercialised but it has been honed over the years to give us what we most want, time with each other. Coming from military families, having both served in the military ourselves, a daughter in Spain, a son in London, a second daughter on holiday from university and my youngest son on leave from the Army as well as a nurse for a wife, (tied to the NHS rota system), means that these holidays together become rarer as the years go on.
In the evening we attended the now traditional Christmas Eve soirée at the House Of Tutt, our friends the Tuttiet’s, it fits well with our plans, starts at 6pm with a strict 10pm finish.
The walk to and from their home gave us some much needed fresh air and a stretch of the legs.
