Into the Deep Freeze

Dear Diary,

About -5F this morning, not too bad.  I've seen it reach -27F.  We will be only in the teens today.  But the wind has died down so the wind chill has eased and the sun will be shinning so it will be fine.  I loved how the little berries on the bush outside my breakfast room window are totally encapsulated in ice.  If you look really carefully you might see the window of my house reflected in one ice drop.

Looks like we will be in the deep freeze for a few days before the temperatures begin to moderate.  We are all looking forward to the annual January thaw!
