#8 Kelan Phil Cohran & Hypnotic Brass Ensemble

Album: Kelan Philip Cohran And The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble
Artist: Kelan Philip Cohran And The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble

One line synopsis: Funky brass band hook up with their Dad and head in an astral direction

Best Track: Zincali, but I can't find a link to the full track, so have this trailer (with Cuernavaca playing in the background) instead.

---------------------------------

When Hypnotic Brass Ensemble first appeared I knew their Dad was a famous jazz musician, but had no idea who Kelan Philip Cohran was. It didn't matter the funky brass of their debut was incredible regardless of the heritage. In fact when I stuck it on this morning Arlo turned into a one-boy dervish. I've since discovered the astral joys of their old man and now that the two worlds have joined up we have this little beauty of an album.

We took Arlo on the santa train today which was great fun. He was a bit overawed by the whole thing, but thoroughly enjoyed it. Ordinarily that would have made my blip, but not during the all important chart countdown!

Notes on the top 10:
* Yes I am sad enough to do a top 10 every year
* All albums must have been released this year
* I must own the physical copy of each of them
* I'm fairly sure there are other albums out there that would make this list had I got round to buying them - Grizzly Bear, Andy Stott and Scott Walker spring to mind
